Final Assignment: Entrepreneurial Project Review and Presentation
This is your final assignment for the Hatchable entrepreneurship course. It is in three parts — and it brings together everything you have built and learned over the past eight modules.
Take your time. This is the capstone of your entrepreneurship journey.
Part 1: Lean Canvas Revision
Your Lean Canvas has evolved throughout this course. In this part, you will do a final review and refinement.
Instructions
-
Review your complete Lean Canvas — look at every section you have filled in across the modules.
-
Revise and strengthen each section based on everything you have learned:
- Have you identified a clear, specific problem?
- Are your customer segments well-defined?
- Is your Unique Value Proposition strong and differentiated?
- Do your revenue streams or funding sources make sense?
- Are your key metrics measurable and actionable?
-
Complete any sections that are still blank or underdeveloped. By the end of this module, your Lean Canvas should be fully filled in.
-
Add an Impact Measurement section (even if it is not a standard Lean Canvas box): List 2–3 metrics you would use to measure whether your project is making a real difference in your community.
What to Submit
A complete, revised Lean Canvas. You may submit it as:
- A written description of each section
- A photograph or scan of a hand-drawn canvas
- A digital canvas image (Figma, Canva, Google Slides, etc.)
Part 2: One-Page Business Plan
Write a one-page business plan that complements your Lean Canvas. This is not a full traditional business plan — it is a concise, focused document that covers the key elements.
Your One-Page Plan Should Include:
Executive Summary (2–3 sentences) What is your project? Who does it serve? What problem does it solve?
Market Analysis (3–5 bullet points)
- Who is your target customer?
- How large is your potential market?
- Who are your main competitors or alternatives?
- What gives you an advantage?
Marketing Strategy (3–5 bullet points)
- How will you reach your customers?
- What channels will you use (social media, word of mouth, partnerships, etc.)?
- What is your key message to your customers?
Operational Plan (3–5 bullet points)
- What are the key activities required to deliver your product or service?
- What resources do you need?
- Who does what (if you have a team)?
Financial Projections (simple, honest estimates)
- Start-up costs
- Ongoing monthly expenses
- Revenue or funding sources
- Break-even timeline (if for-profit)
Ethical Considerations (2–3 sentences) What ethical commitments does your project make — to your customers, your community, or the environment?
Part 3: Five-Minute Pitch Video
Record a short video presentation (approximately 5 minutes) pitching your entrepreneurial project.
Your Pitch Should Cover:
-
Introduction — Who are you? What is your project called?
-
The Problem — What problem does your project solve? Who experiences this problem?
-
Your Solution — What is your solution? How does it work?
-
Your Unique Value Proposition — What makes your project different? Why should someone choose it?
-
Your Lean Canvas Highlights — Briefly walk through 2–3 key sections of your canvas (customer segments, revenue/funding, key metrics)
-
Impact Measurement — How will you know your project is making a difference? What would you measure?
-
Your Ask or Call to Action — What do you want your audience to do? (Join your project? Fund it? Spread the word?)
Submission Tips
- Record in a quiet space with good lighting
- Look at the camera — not at your notes
- Speak clearly and at a steady pace
- You may use slides or your Lean Canvas as a backdrop — but you should be the focus
- It does not need to be professionally produced. Authenticity matters more than polish.
Submission Requirements
Submit all three parts together:
| Part | Format | |------|--------| | Lean Canvas | Written description, image, or PDF | | One-Page Business Plan | Written in the submission box or uploaded as a document | | Pitch Video | YouTube/TikTok link (unlisted), Google Drive link, or uploaded file |
A Final Note
This assignment is not just an academic exercise. It is a real plan for a real project — one that you could actually pursue.
You have spent eight modules developing the knowledge, tools, and mindset of an entrepreneur. This final submission is your chance to show yourself — and the world — what you have built.
We cannot wait to see what you have created.
