Hatchable is a free entrepreneurship course used mostly by people aged 12 and up, so this page tries to be specific rather than reassuring. If anything here is unclear, please ask us.
If you have an account, we store your name, your email address, whether you are a student or a teacher, your school if you are a teacher, and your age if you are a student and chose to give it. Age is optional.
We do not ask for a home address, a phone number or a date of birth, and there is nowhere in the product to enter them.
As you use the course, we store which lessons you have finished, your quiz answers and scores, anything you hand in, any feedback a teacher writes back, and whatever you write into your own business plan, pitch, shop, expenses or report.
If you back a student, buy from one, or vote in a showcase, and you do not have an account, we store the name you gave, your email address if you gave one, and what you wrote. That is how the student knows who to thank and what to prepare.
Nothing you write is visible to other students, and there is no way to browse from one person's page to another.
Accounts, course work and uploaded files are held in Supabase, in their Canadian region. The site itself runs on Vercel, and we have not pinned Vercel to a single country, so a request may be handled outside Canada. We would rather say that than imply otherwise.
Emails, such as the one confirming your address or telling you a teacher has replied, are sent through Resend, which receives the recipient address and the message.
Course videos are embedded from YouTube using their privacy-enhanced domain. Google receives your request when a video plays, as it would on any site with an embedded video.
Those four are the only companies involved.
One. When you log in we set a session cookie so the site knows it is still you. It is necessary for logging in to work, and it does no tracking. We set no other cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner on this site.
We keep your account and your work for as long as your account exists. We have not set a fixed deletion date, and we will say so here if that changes.
There is no delete button in the product yet. To have your account and everything in it removed, email us at hello@hatchable.ca and we will do it by hand. Deleting an account removes the progress, the work handed in, the feedback, the business plan, the pitch, any pledges recorded against it, the shop, the orders, the expenses and the report.
You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct something, or withdraw consent, using the same address.
A parent can ask for a child's data to be shown, corrected or deleted, using the address above. A school can ask the same on behalf of a student, and we will confirm with the school before acting on it.
We do not require a school to sign anything to use Hatchable, and there is no contract to review, because the course is free and we take no payment.
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and update the date at the top. This policy was last updated on 11 August 2026.
Email hello@hatchable.ca or use the contact form. We read everything.
