About Jenny: Jenny is a 16-year-old who lives in a small town in Canada. She's an artist whose T-shirt drawing business started by accident.
Jenny made a short video using some of her drawings. Here's her story:
"This is what I see: the beauty seen with the eyes is translated into what the hands can create. Some people need words or numbers to communicate, but I need a pencil and some paper to draw what catches my eye, dances in my mind, or simply pops out because of its colour.
Luckily, I live in a small town in Canada so I'm nowhere short of inspiration. Sometimes it's the lively stream beyond my backyard where I spend countless hours during summer break, or my attic looking through the large glass windows during the winter.
There was this one time where I saw an image and the closest thing I had to 'paper' beside me was an old white t-shirt. While hoping that my mom wouldn't be mad at me for drawing on my clothes, the flowiness of the t-shirt added perspective. And that is where my idea to draw on t-shirts began.
It was actually dad's idea to post my t-shirt drawings on his Instagram page. I even had some people request certain drawings. Putting effort and working hard towards growing the t-shirt designs would be my greatest endeavour.
Mom says I should set some goals for my future. One would be to complete a university degree in fine arts. Another would be to study abroad in Europe and see the work of my favourite impressionist artists. And lastly, I hope to one day open my art gallery in my very own hometown."
