Imagine you are helping a non-profit organization set goals to make a positive impact in your community. Your job is to check if their goals are SMART.
Remember: SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Instructions
Step 1: Choose one of the following non-profit projects.
Read about each project below and pick the one you want to analyze.
Step 2: Analyze their goals by answering these questions:
- Specific: Are the goals clear and specific? Do you know exactly what they want to achieve?
- Measurable: Can you measure their progress? How do they know when they've reached the goal?
- Achievable: Do you think they can achieve this goal with the resources they have?
- Relevant: Does the goal make sense for their organization? Does it help them fulfill their mission?
- Time-bound: Is there a deadline or a timeline to complete the goal?
Step 3: Write a short paragraph for your chosen organization, saying whether their goal is SMART or not. Explain why you think so.
The Three Projects
Project 1 — The Green Kids Recycling Club
The Green Kids Recycling Club is dedicated to making our environment cleaner and healthier by collecting and recycling plastic bottles in our community. We envision a world where plastic waste is reduced, and our natural surroundings are preserved for future generations.
